She jarred my world. I fell in love with her almost immediately. Sure she’s beautiful but that’s not it. She‘s funny. She’s smart to the point of being genius. And she’s clever. All things I find more attractive than beauty. That she’s dead gorgeous is just a bonus. She knows all the right games to plays. She’s talented that way and in many others. She made me feel like a man. She can see my soul, or maybe it’s just that I willingly tore open my chest and showed it to her.

She’s also wicked and deceitful. She’s as conniving as she is clever. There’s not an honest bone in her body. Truth, she’s not capable of it. She adores being loved but returning love, she’s incapable of that too. She takes but never gives. I understand now what I couldn’t before. Moxi, Cleopatra, Bathsheba, Mata Hari, I understand now how a woman can destroy an empire.

Why do we continue to want what we know is bad for us? Giving us absolutely no say about who we fall in love with is life’s cruelest prank.

She made me a better man.

I hate her.

I love her.

She jarred my world.
